About SGA
The Student Government Association is the official voice of the students. The SGA is charged with passing legislation to the President's Council that is consistent with the wants and needs of the UMHB student body. It also hosts and directs three major campus events, each of which is spear-headed by a specific class.
SGA is comprised of six class officers from each of the four classes, a non-traditional representative, athletic representative, graduate student representative, international student representative, and a seven person executive cabinet. Each class has a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, senator, and chaplain. The executive cabinet consists of three elected positions: Student Body President, Internal Vice President, and the External Vice President. The remaining five positions are appointed by the previously mentioned officers. These positions are the Director of Finance and Organizations, Director of Programs and Public Relations, Director of Spiritual Life, and Director of Resources.
